Top Bollywood Stars Investing in Bandra Real Estate

Bandra, Mumbai’s luxury residential hub, has become the go-to destination for Bollywood celebrities, who are not only adding a prestigious address to their portfolios but are also fuelling property demand in the area. Known for its premium lifestyle offerings, Bandra is the only neighbourhood in Mumbai where property prices often reach as high as ₹1 lakh per sq ft, as stars like Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, and Suniel Shetty’s family invest in upscale homes here.

In September 2024, Deepika Padukone added a 1,845 sq ft apartment to her growing real estate portfolio, securing it through her firm KA Enterprises for ₹17.8 crore. Her property, situated on the 15th floor of the Sagar Resham Co-operative Housing Society in Bandra West, is a short distance from Bollywood legend Shahrukh Khan’s iconic bungalow, Mannat. This high-profile acquisition reflects a rate of ₹96,400 per sq ft, underscoring Bandra’s premium price tag. In a similar high-value transaction, actor R Madhavan expanded his property investments in July 2024, purchasing a spacious 4,182 sq ft apartment in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) for ₹17.5 crore.

This area is not only known for luxury residences but also houses major commercial hubs, including offices of global firms like Apple, Netflix, and Google. Madhavan’s new home adds to the allure of BKC as a desirable spot for Bollywood’s elite. Further bolstering the appeal of Bandra, the recently married couple, cricketer KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty, daughter of Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, invested in a ₹20 crore property in Pali Hill, Bandra’s posh residential area. This 3,350 sq ft apartment offers four dedicated car spaces and incurs a ₹1.2 crore stamp duty. With its vibrant social scene and lush surroundings, Pali Hill remains one of Mumbai’s most desirable addresses for celebrities and executives alike.

Meanwhile, actress Tripti Dimri, known for her role in the film Animal, acquired a charming bungalow in the Carter Road area of Bandra West in June 2024 for ₹14 crore. With a land area of 2,226 sq ft and a built-up area of 2,194 sq ft, her property highlights the range of residential offerings in Bandra, from contemporary apartments to heritage bungalows. Another Bandra resident, Aamir Khan, recently added to his existing holdings in the neighbourhood by purchasing a 1,027 sq ft apartment in Pali Hill’s Bella Vista Apartments. At a cost of over ₹9 crore, this acquisition complements his other investments in the area, including units in Bella Vista and Marina Apartments, both anticipated for redevelopment.
