The two-month window, running from early February to the end of March, allows property owners to clear outstanding taxes without paying accumulated interest, as the civic body seeks to reverse years of sluggish revenue collection.

Property tax remains the backbone of municipal finances, funding core services such as road maintenance, drainage, waste management, and local infrastructure upgrades. However, officials acknowledge that collections in Bhiwandi have consistently fallen short of annual targets, constraining the corporation’s ability to keep pace with rapid population growth and expanding service demands.
