Dalmia Bharat Hits Target with 49.5 MT Production

Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL) has reached a significant milestone for FY25, achieving its target production capacity of 49.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

This accomplishment is marked by the successful commissioning of an additional 0.5 mtpa at the Rohtas Cement Works (RCW) in Bihar. The strategic expansion, valued at Rs 96 crore, has increased the integrated plant’s capacity to 1.6 mtpa, reinforcing DBL’s commitment to scaling up its operations across India, particularly in the rapidly developing Eastern region. The Rohtas expansion is not just about increased capacity it also underscores Dalmia Bharat’s long-term vision of positioning itself as a leader in the Indian cement industry. The company’s plan to scale up its total production to between 110-130 mtpa by 2031 aligns with the nation’s growing infrastructure needs and marks a significant step toward reinforcing its market leadership in the country’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

India’s Eastern region, encompassing states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal, is experiencing rapid infrastructure growth. The need for reliable and high-quality cement has surged across a variety of sectors, including roads, railways, airports, and housing. Dalmia Bharat’s expansion in Rohtas aims to meet this growing demand and strengthens the company’s ability to serve key regional markets. By increasing its local footprint, DBL is ensuring its cement products are well-positioned to cater to the fast-evolving infrastructure demands, thus contributing to the region’s economic development.

By promoting sustainability through cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, DBL is positioning itself as a responsible industry leader. The commissioning of the new capacity at the Rohtas Cement Works is also a significant step towards creating more local employment opportunities. The increased plant capacity and associated infrastructure developments are expected to generate jobs, supporting both the local economy and the wider community in Bihar. The expansion of operations will not only benefit local businesses but also provide opportunities for skill development and capacity-building within the region, further contributing to the economic well-being of the area.

Dalmia Bharat’s decision to continue investing in its Eastern facilities reflects the company’s belief in the region’s potential as a growing hub for industrial growth. With its strong base of operations in Bihar and nearby states, DBL is poised to play a pivotal role in fulfilling India’s construction and infrastructure needs in the years to come. In addition to cement production, DBL is known for its commitment to fostering sustainable development. Its Rohtas Cement Works will be built with modern technologies aimed at minimising environmental impact, in line with the company’s dedication to building sustainable cities and a greener future for India. This commitment to sustainability, coupled with its expanding footprint, positions Dalmia Bharat as a leader in India’s green economy.
