Pune India Seamless Ventures Into LED Lighting Market With Experiential Showrooms Nationwide

Pune-based India Seamless Group has entered the consumer LED lighting market through its new subsidiary, LightO Technologies, aiming to transform urban lighting across India and South Asia. The venture launches over 100 products spanning LED, decorative, and compact fluorescent lamps, while introducing experiential showrooms under the ‘LightOzone’ brand. The company plans nationwide expansion, targeting key cities initially in Maharashtra and Gujarat, with exports to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

LightO Technologies represents a strategic diversification for India Seamless, a Rs 2,000 crore group with established operations in aviation, manufacturing, and industrial power solutions. The subsidiary’s product range is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of urban households and commercial clients, with prices starting at Rs 90 and scaling up to premium offerings of Rs 18,000. The firm currently partners with a curated network of manufacturers for its designs, while a dedicated Indian manufacturing facility is slated for completion by the end of 2014.A technical and commercial collaboration with Hong Kong-based Optiled Lighting International underpins LightO’s entry into the sector. Optiled, which has a presence in over 30 countries, will provide design and technology support, ensuring products meet global energy efficiency and quality standards. “We have partnered with a leading lighting technology company to accelerate our market entry,” said a senior executive at India Seamless.

LightO’s initial rollout focuses on urban centres in Maharashtra and Gujarat, with plans to expand to 30 cities across India within the fiscal year. The company also aims to commence exports to neighbouring South Asian countries in 2014, targeting a sales revenue of Rs 100 crore by the end of financial year 2015.To enhance consumer engagement, the company has launched ‘LightOzone’ in Pune, a 1,100 square feet experiential centre where customers can explore its range of LED and decorative lighting products firsthand. The concept will be replicated in 30 additional cities across India, reflecting a focus on hands-on urban retail experiences that combine design, energy efficiency, and modern aesthetics.Industry observers note that India’s urban households are increasingly shifting towards energy-efficient lighting solutions due to rising electricity costs and government incentives promoting sustainable infrastructure. “The urban lighting market is evolving rapidly, and consumer demand for cost-effective, eco-friendly products is growing,” said a senior urban planner.

With this venture, India Seamless not only broadens its industrial portfolio but also positions itself within the sustainable urban infrastructure segment, aligning with broader city-level initiatives for energy-efficient and inclusive development. LightO Technologies’ expansion exemplifies how industrial conglomerates can leverage innovation to support India’s transition toward greener, smarter urban environments.
