Topcem Cement Supports Education in Kamrup with School Supplies Distribution

Topcem Cement, a prominent player in the cement industry, has extended a vital helping hand to nearly 500 underprivileged students in Assam’s Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. In a commendable move to support education, the company distributed essential school supplies across 13 institutions, ensuring that young learners have access to the necessary tools for their educational journey.

The distribution included critical learning materials such as notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers. A total of around 9,000 pencils, 6,000 pens, 1,100 notebooks, and 9,000 sharpeners and erasers were handed out. Among the beneficiary institutions were Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan, Seven Sisters Home, UTSAH Education Center, and Jalukbari Higher Secondary School, among others. The handover ceremony was graced by Dr. Anil Kapur, Senior President of Sales & Marketing at Meghalaya Cements Ltd., the parent company of Topcem Cement. Dr. Kapur, along with representatives from the participating schools and organisations, highlighted the significance of access to education for every child. “Every child deserves access to education, and no one should face barriers due to a lack of resources,” he stated during the ceremony.

This initiative, which started in 2021, is a testament to Topcem Cement’s long-standing commitment to supporting educational causes and fostering a sense of responsibility within the community. The company’s efforts are not just limited to the distribution of school materials but also aim to inspire compassion and a culture of learning among students. Topcem Cement’s initiative plays a crucial role in bridging the educational gap for underprivileged children, reinforcing the importance of corporate responsibility in shaping a brighter future for disadvantaged communities. By empowering students with the necessary resources, the company hopes to inspire both academic growth and community development in Assam.
