CIDCO Launches EOI For India Largest 25000 Capacity Live Arena

Navi Mumbai is poised to enter the global entertainment arena with a new 25,000-capacity indoor facility, as CIDCO invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) for its development. Scheduled to host concerts, international sporting events, cultural festivals, and immersive productions, this initiative marks a pivotal step in positioning the city as a national hub for large-scale live events while boosting local economic activity.

The proposed multi-purpose arena, inspired by international landmarks such as New York’s Madison Square Garden and London’s The O₂ Arena, will accommodate 20,000 seated spectators and up to 25,000 standing attendees. CIDCO officials emphasise that this development aims to raise India’s benchmark for entertainment infrastructure while generating employment and driving ancillary business opportunities. “Establishing India’s first iconic indoor live arena represents both a cultural and economic breakthrough,” said a CIDCO spokesperson. “It will bring world-class experiences to Indian audiences, enhance opportunities for performers, and strengthen Navi Mumbai’s position on the global map.”

Strategically located with robust connectivity, the arena benefits from proximity to key transport projects, including the Atal Setu Trans-Harbour Link, the upcoming high-speed rail corridors, and the expanding Navi Mumbai Metro. The future Navi Mumbai International Airport will further facilitate international artist mobility, production logistics, and media access. Industry experts note that such integrated infrastructure is critical to attracting global-standard events to India’s urban centres. The project complements other mega-developments in the region, including the Nerul Jetty, Kharghar Centre of Excellence, Valley Golf Course, and upcoming Medi City, Edu City, and Aero City projects. Together, these initiatives enhance Navi Mumbai’s appeal as a cultural, sporting, and entertainment destination while reinforcing the city’s long-term urban development strategy.

CIDCO has also engaged leading domestic and international partners to ensure the arena adheres to global design and operational standards. Officials expect the facility to stimulate tourism, strengthen local supply chains, and establish Navi Mumbai as a preferred venue for international entertainment and sporting events. The EOI document will be available online from December 9, with submissions accepted until 5:00 pm on December 30. CIDCO has reiterated its commitment to future-ready urban infrastructure that balances economic growth with sustainable development and inclusive access.
