India is preparing to meet a record surge in electricity consumption this summer, with peak demand expected to reach around 270 GW, testing the resilience of its power system as climate-driven heat and urban growth accelerate energy needs.Government assessments indicate that the country is better positioned than in previous years, supported by higher coal availability and a growing contribution from renewable energy sources.
