Jaipur Digidukan Funding Targets Construction Retail Growth

Jaipur: A Jaipur-based construction-material procurement startup has raised ₹2 crore in angel funding, bringing fresh capital into a segment where fragmented supply chains and inventory costs continue to affect small retailers. The investment is expected to support technology upgrades, wider product coverage and expansion into Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, potentially changing how building materials move from suppliers to local retail outlets.

The funding has come from two senior representatives of United Plywood, a Jaipur-based plywood and building-material distribution business. Public information from United Plywood identifies its leadership in the regional distribution trade, giving the investment a direct connection to the construction-material supply ecosystem. The startup’s model centres on rapid procurement rather than conventional bulk stocking. Retailers can place orders digitally and receive construction materials through a delivery system designed around short turnaround times. For smaller shops, such a model could reduce the amount of working capital tied up in slow-moving inventory and make replenishment more responsive to local demand. The construction-material procurement market is particularly relevant as India’s cities expand through housing, infrastructure and commercial development. Faster access to materials can improve supply reliability, but the wider environmental impact will depend on what is being delivered, how frequently vehicles travel and whether better demand forecasting actually reduces excess stock, failed deliveries and material wastage.

The company has reported that its monthly gross merchandise value has risen eightfold since the start of 2026. It also says nearly 5,000 orders have been completed, with average order value above ₹9,000 and repeat purchases accounting for about 90% of customers. These figures are company-reported and could not be independently verified through publicly available financial filings. The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) framework primarily governs real-estate projects and protects homebuyers; it does not directly regulate a procurement platform such as this one. However, construction-material traceability, quality documentation and timely supply remain relevant to the broader delivery of compliant building projects. Any technology-led procurement expansion will therefore need to operate alongside existing standards for materials, safety and project execution.

The next phase will test whether the model can work beyond Jaipur without increasing delivery kilometres, packaging waste or logistical inefficiencies. Expansion into smaller cities could improve access for local retailers and contractors, but its urban value will ultimately depend on whether digital procurement produces more efficient material flows rather than simply accelerating consumption. For cities facing simultaneous housing demand and pressure to reduce construction waste and emissions, smarter supply systems could become useful infrastructure in their own right. The key measure will be whether growth delivers reliability and affordability while using fewer resources across the construction chain.
