Wonder Cement Adds New Leadership For Brand Communication

Wonder Cement has appointed a new Vice President for Corporate Brand Communication as India’s cement sector enters a period of expanding capacity, infrastructure investment and closer scrutiny of how construction businesses communicate with consumers, trade networks and wider stakeholders.

The appointment places corporate brand communication under a single senior mandate covering digital and performance marketing, public relations, trade engagement, events, exhibitions, sports and experiential platforms. Corporate brand communication is increasingly becoming a broader business function as construction companies manage not only market visibility but also relationships around large-scale development. The incoming executive has more than two decades of experience across corporate marketing, communications and agency strategy. Earlier career experience included more than a decade with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, where responsibilities covered integrated communications, media, digital initiatives, retail engagement and consumer outreach.

The career subsequently moved into the agency sector, with a senior strategy and planning role at dentsu X India. The work covered automotive and electric vehicles alongside sectors including consumer goods, consumer electronics, financial services and apparel. The remit included marketing strategy, product launches, content and performance-led consumer programmes. An entrepreneurial stint followed through Radiant Brands, before the executive moved to Shriram Ltd’s SPR Autotech business as Head of Marketing and Communications. That position combined corporate and brand strategy with public relations, online reputation management, retail identity, loyalty initiatives and events. The move to Wonder Cement comes as communication expectations around the building materials industry are changing. Cement remains central to housing, transport networks, commercial development and urban infrastructure, while its carbon intensity and resource requirements have increased pressure on producers to demonstrate greater efficiency and environmental responsibility.

For consumers and cities, that makes corporate messaging only one part of the equation. The more significant test for large construction-material companies is whether communication is matched by measurable progress on emissions, energy efficiency, resource use, worker welfare and responsible expansion.Industry observers say integrated communication can help businesses maintain a consistent public and stakeholder interface as their operations become more complex. However, credibility increasingly depends on whether claims around sustainability and responsible growth can be supported by transparent data.At Wonder Cement, the new leadership role is expected to bring several communication functions into a more coordinated framework. The immediate focus will be on aligning engagement with consumers, trade partners and other stakeholders. For the wider built environment, the shift highlights a broader change: as India’s cities expand, companies supplying the materials behind that growth will face rising expectations to communicate not only what they build and sell, but how their operations affect the communities and environments around them.
