Raipur Unveils Rama World, 100-Acre Retail Lifestyle Destination Redefining Central India’s Growth

Raipur’s urban identity is set for a major transformation as the Rama Group launches Rama World  a 100-acre mixed-use retail and lifestyle development aimed at positioning the Chhattisgarh capital as Central India’s next major commercial hub.

Located on Vidhan Sabha Road with seamless access to Raipur Ring Road and Swami Vivekananda Airport, Rama World promises to bring an integrated “city within a city” experience that combines commerce, leisure, and culture on a global scale. The project spans over 3.1 million sq. ft. of built-up area, housing more than 1,400 premium stores across 750 brands. Developers project daily footfalls of over 8,000 on weekdays and up to 25,000 on weekends, signalling its potential to become a key economic driver for the region.

The development is organised into distinct zones, each catering to specific consumer experiences. Rama Mall will anchor luxury retail, while Rama Galleria is dedicated to fine dining and home interiors. Rama Highstreet is set to showcase fashion and lifestyle brands, and Rama Arcade will serve as an enterprise and co-working corridor, enabling small businesses and startups to thrive in a modern, high-footfall environment.

Beyond retail, Rama World integrates civic and cultural spaces that strengthen Raipur’s community fabric. The inclusion of a Wholesale Cloth Market and a Luxury Car Display reflects the city’s trade aspirations, while the expansive Rama Banquet, capable of hosting 3,500 guests, positions the venue as a premier events destination in Central India. Recreational elements such as Rama Adventure Park featuring go-karting, VR gaming, and amusement rides   underscore its appeal to younger audiences and families.

Sustainability lies at the heart of the masterplan. Wide internal roads, green zones, and dedicated orchards have been designed to reduce the carbon footprint of operations. Over 4,000 parking spaces and a streamlined cargo movement network ensure accessibility without congestion. Urban planners note that such developments, if managed responsibly, can support Raipur’s shift toward a low-carbon, inclusive growth model that prioritises both business and livability.

Industry experts say Rama World’s launch signifies a broader trend in Tier-2 cities embracing integrated developments that blend commercial ambition with social experience. “Projects like this redefine what mid-sized cities can aspire to  sustainable, accessible, and culturally vibrant,” said a Raipur-based architect. As Raipur evolves beyond its industrial roots, Rama World could emerge as a defining symbol of its transformation into a connected, future-ready metropolis.
