The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) recently took possession of reserved plots in the Gota and Thaltej areas as part of its ongoing efforts to clear encroachments and ensure planned urban development. The operation, carried out by AMC’s estate department team from the north-west zone, was focused on securing plots within the TP (town planning) schemes of these areas and opening up designated roads.
In Gota, the operation resulted in the successful acquisition of four plots across different TP schemes. One of the key achievements was the reclamation of an 8,800 square meter plot in TP scheme 56, which had been designated for residential use. In addition, the team cleared encroachments from a 420 square meter plot that was earmarked for open space and took possession of it. The operation also extended to the Thaltej area, where the team reclaimed two plots in TP scheme 214, designated for commercial use. These plots measured 1,088 square meters and 5,824 square meters, both of which are now secured for their intended purpose.
Furthermore, the AMC team extended their efforts to Jagatpur’s TP scheme 34, where plots designated for houses for the urban poor were cleared of illegal structures. This initiative is part of the civic body’s broader mission to ensure proper access to designated roads and open spaces across the city. As part of the operation, the team also removed illegal constructions from roads in Sola’s TP scheme 43 (18 meters wide) and TP scheme 42 (7.5 meters wide), thereby ensuring proper access to these areas for residents and furthering the development of Ahmedabad’s infrastructure. This action by the AMC underscores its commitment to reclaiming and developing reserved land for public use, promoting planned urban growth, and maintaining the integrity of the city’s town planning schemes.
