Chandigarh Mohit Bansal Leads GMI Infra Transforming Cities And Innovation Nationwide

Mohit Bansal, CEO of Grey Marble Infra Private Limited (GMI Infra), is positioning the company at the forefront of India’s sustainable urban and industrial development. A graduate in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the State University of New York, Bansal returned to India to leverage his analytical expertise and global exposure to foster holistic city-building initiatives.

Founded in 2018, GMI Infra has developed a portfolio of projects that integrate residential, commercial, and technology-driven ecosystems. “Our approach is to build infrastructure that serves communities while supporting economic growth and environmental responsibility,” an official from the company said. By focusing on Tier-2 cities, often overlooked by mainstream developers, GMI Infra is creating new regional hubs that stimulate local economies and attract investment. Among its flagship developments, GMI Business Park in Mohali spans 90 acres and incorporates green design principles, IT-compliant zoning, and smart amenities, catering to technology firms, MSMEs, and manufacturers. The park reflects a broader strategy to combine sustainable infrastructure with economic opportunity, contributing to North India’s industrial transformation. The GMI IT Tower, located near ISB, Plaksha University, and Infosys, exemplifies the vertical evolution of commercial spaces, featuring energy-efficient systems, smart automation, and collaborative work environments. Industry experts note that such next-generation workspaces are increasingly critical for retaining talent and enabling innovative business clusters in emerging cities.

On the residential front, GMI Elite Homes, positioned along the Bharatmala Highway, offers 136 premium residences designed for wellness-focused living. Sustainability measures such as rainwater harvesting, solar energy integration, and landscaped communal areas support environmental stewardship while promoting quality of life. Adjacent GMI Platinum Square provides high-visibility commercial spaces, blending contemporary architecture with functional business infrastructure. Looking ahead, GMI Infra aims to develop 10 IT parks across North and East India by 2030, creating a network of innovation hubs to foster economic inclusion and digital empowerment. “We are building ecosystems that enhance lives, empower businesses, and respect the environment,” said an industry spokesperson.

Mohit Bansal’s vision aligns with India’s urbanisation goals and the need for sustainable city planning. His strategy prioritises integrated development that balances economic growth, community engagement, and environmental responsibility, offering a model for future-ready urban infrastructure in the country.
