DDA Issues 83 Conveyance Deeds in PM-UDAY Camps for Unauthorised Colonies

The Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) scheme, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) issued 83 conveyance deeds and authorisation slips to residents of unauthorised colonies on the first day of its single-window camp.

The camp, held on Saturday, was attended by thousands seeking resolution for issues related to the PM-UDAY scheme, aimed at providing ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi. The camp, which is set to run every Saturday and Sunday until December 29, also processed 414 new applications and cleared deficiencies in 411 pending applications. In total, 113 applications were approved, bringing relief to many long-awaiting residents. Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, visited the site at Shyam Vihar, Najafgarh, on Sunday, interacting with beneficiaries and ensuring their satisfaction with the services offered. During his visit, he distributed certificates of ownership to 40 beneficiaries.

Saxena also directed the DDA to expedite the clearance of 62,000 pending applications and to swiftly process new ones. The camps are set up in 10 processing centres located within unauthorised colonies, such as Burari, Najafgarh, Karawal Nagar, and Malviya Nagar, providing services related to conveyance deeds, authorisation slips, GIS surveys, and new registrations. The PM-UDAY scheme is part of the government’s broader effort to grant legal recognition to properties in 1,731 unauthorised colonies in Delhi, conferring ownership rights to the residents. Saxena urged people to attend the camps in large numbers, emphasising that the government is now bringing services to the residents’ doorsteps.
