Direct Metro Connectivity to Gandhinagar, GNLU, and GIFT City Starts from APMC Station

Direct Metro Connectivity to Gandhinagar, GNLU, and GIFT City Starts from APMC Station

The Gujarat Metro Rail can look forward to more convenient and direct routes to important destinations in the state. The new Metro service now provides a direct connection to Gandhinagar Sector 1, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), and GIFT City, eliminating the need for commuters to switch trains at Motera Stadium. This new move is a significant improvement in metro connectivity, designed to make travel smoother and more time-efficient for commuters.

The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has worked closely with the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety to secure the necessary approvals for this service enhancement. One of the most notable changes is the elimination of the previous transfer requirement at Motera, a decision that simplifies the commuting process. Passengers can now travel directly to Gandhinagar, GNLU, and GIFT City, offering a seamless experience for both local residents and business professionals. In addition to the new direct train routes, bus services have been introduced to further improve the connection between key locations. These buses will now run every 30 minutes to connect the GNLU station with Gift City, with additional stops at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU).

Previously, commuters heading to GIFT City had to switch trains at GNLU, which would result in a wait time of 5 to 10 minutes. With the new system in place, passengers can now enjoy a more seamless journey, with significantly reduced transfer times. The new Metro services will run every 30 minutes during peak hours, ensuring efficient travel for those commuting to Gandhinagar and GIFT City. During off-peak hours, the trains will run on an hourly basis. However, passengers traveling from Vastral or Thaltej Gam will still need to change trains at the Old High Court station, but the integration of the east-west corridor (Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam) allows for a continuous journey to Gandhinagar on the same ticket, streamlining travel further.

These improvements are part of ongoing efforts to enhance Metro connectivity in Gujarat, ensuring that commuters have access to faster and more reliable transport options. The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation has been working diligently to expand its services and improve the overall travel experience for residents and visitors alike. For many commuters, this update will make a noticeable difference in their daily routines, reducing travel time and increasing the convenience of accessing key areas such as Gandhinagar and the burgeoning GIFT City. This move is a part of Gujarat’s broader vision to develop a more interconnected and efficient public transport system, fostering smoother mobility for all residents. The new Metro links represent a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to improve public transport in Gujarat, setting a precedent for future developments and expansions that aim to meet the growing demand for efficient and sustainable transport solutions in urban areas.
