INOXAP Signs 20-Year Green Gas Supply Deal With Premier Energies In Andhra Pradesh

INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has entered into a 20-year Build-Own-Operate (BOO) agreement with Premier Energies for a gas supply facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. The long-term partnership will see the installation of a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) to provide ultra-high purity gases crucial for solar cell production, supporting India’s goal of domestic clean energy self-reliance.

The upcoming facility will supply 7,000 nm³/h of 5N-grade Nitrogen and 250 nm³/h of 6N-grade Oxygen, along with other specialised gases, ensuring a steady and high-quality supply chain for one of the country’s largest solar manufacturing clusters. The plant is expected to be commissioned by next year, marking a major milestone in aligning industrial infrastructure with sustainable energy objectives.

According to company officials, this collaboration brings together technological expertise and long-term reliability. The advanced ASU system is designed to operate with high energy efficiency, reducing environmental impact while maintaining purity standards critical for solar cell fabrication. “This partnership supports the nation’s renewable mission by ensuring consistent access to sustainable, high-purity gases,” an industry expert commented, noting that dependable gas infrastructure is an often-overlooked but essential enabler of India’s solar ambitions.

The project aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ goals, promoting local production of clean technology components. Naidupeta has emerged as a key industrial hub for renewable manufacturing, attracting investments in solar, electronics, and green materials. Industry observers believe such long-term agreements can stabilise supply chains and attract further investment into India’s renewable infrastructure ecosystem.

Beyond its immediate industrial significance, the INOXAP-Premier Energies agreement signals a shift towards integrating sustainability principles into heavy industrial operations. Cryogenic gas plants like this are increasingly optimised for low-carbon operations, using advanced heat recovery and energy management systems to cut emissions intensity. Analysts suggest that partnerships combining renewable production with efficient energy utilisation will play a defining role in India’s transition to a net zero economy.

As India scales up its solar cell and module manufacturing capacity to meet domestic demand and global export potential, robust industrial collaborations like this are expected to strengthen technological capacity while ensuring environmental compliance. Andhra Pradesh, with its proactive industrial policies and access to renewable energy resources, continues to position itself as a front-runner in India’s green manufacturing future.
