Kiran Rao Leases Luxe Bandra Apartment at ₹6.5 Lakh/Month

Kiran Rao, celebrated Bollywood director and producer, has leased a premium apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra West for ₹6.5 lakh per month. Known for her creative ventures and as the director of Lost Ladies, India’s official entry for the 2025 Oscars, Rao’s move reflects her penchant for exclusivity and modern living.

The rented apartment, located in the plush Anand building in Pali Hill, comes with a five-year lease agreement and a security deposit of ₹30 lakh. The rent is structured to escalate annually, rising to ₹6.82 lakh in the second year and peaking at ₹7.9 lakh in the fifth. This prime property offers proximity to Mumbai’s elite lifestyle and cultural vibrancy, making it a sought-after location among celebrities.

Rao’s latest film, Lost Ladies (formerly Laapataa Ladies), showcases her unique storytelling style, blending satire and societal critique. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kindling Pictures, and Jio Studios, the film delves into gender dynamics and patriarchy in rural India. Its selection as India’s Oscar entry underscores Rao’s growing influence in Indian cinema.

This high-profile lease not only highlights the allure of Bandra West among Bollywood’s elite but also underscores the region’s escalating rental market. Pali Hill continues to be a hub for the city’s affluent residents, combining luxury living with a vibrant cultural ecosystem.
